I posted pictures on facebook from the last few days this doesn't include the work from today.
We appeared to make some progress today although my mother was a one person Laurel and Hardy routine. She apparently mis-stepped in the bathroom this morning and knocked a quart of paint off the counter. It opened and shot paint across the toilet and floor. In trying to clean it up, she leaned into the toilet too hard and broke the flexible tubing that delivers water, causing it to flow all over the floor, making an even larger mess. She was not very happy when I got there. Dad got it all repaired and the only sign of a problem is a little bit of paint in the grout behind the toilet.
In spite of it all, we got a primer coat on the bathroom and a first coat on the ceiling. The bathroom was blue, ceiling too, we are wondering if we are going to have to go with a Sistine chapel look of blue with clouds instead of the white we were aiming for. The blue just keeps coming through.
The carpeting has been pulled out of my bedroom and is ready for the floor to be installed tomorrow or Saturday. I've perused it in my bare feet looking for unpulled staples. I also slid the vacuum across the floor to see what it caught on. It should be fairly well prepared.
The sapphire room has no wallpaper left! The shelving is down off the walls, the curtains are down, all the nails have been pulled, the holes have been spackled, and it is ready for paint, as soon as we remove the pergo boxes, anyway.
Dad has moved the floor joist supports in the garage from outside the room to under it, cut off the joists at the end of the room, and put a solid board across the top of the crawlspace hole. He'll be putting up OSB soon.
The roof is finished and the back porch roof is almost finished. It looks great. I can't wait to see it when it's actually light outside. There were a couple of extra repairs that will add to the cost but probably not more than $50. I'm glad I'm having it done, it will be one less thing to worry about.
Now, I'm freezing and covered in paint and wallpaper remover so I'm going to run a hot bath and then go to bed. Tomorrow is another busy day.
