My goal for this weekend was to do a major clean out of my house. I was going to strip everything out of the spare room, reorganize, remove the armoire, set up the gorilla rack, shuffle all the long term storage out into my new shed, shuffle other storage into the empty places and leave the spare room and rest of the house habitable.

Well....

It sort of worked. I did strip everything out of the spare room. I did tear out the armoire (it got a few good licks in in the process, though), the gorilla rack is set up and stuffed to the gills. The shed has been organised and filled almost to capacity. But...the house is not very habitable yet. The dumpster is full to over flowing so none of the trash can go out. I need a truck to take the 4 drawer file cabinet away. I need to make a run to goodwill. I need a couple more good sized totes for storage. And, once everything is up off the floor it needs a good vacuum. At the moment there is a narrow path from my front door to the kitchen. The spare room is in better shape. Other than the large box of garbage and the vacuuming, it looks like someone could live there. Unfortunately, the garbage truck doesn't come until Thursday, maybe Friday since this is a holiday week. I don't have a truck to take things away and I'm not sure when I will have time to get the totes and organize the rest of this. I hate living in this kind of mess!

However, I took today to go to the state fair with Robert, Carrie, and Jenna. While it wasn't what I expected or even hoped, it was still a fun day. It leaves me longing for the days when walking around for a solid couple of hours didn't leave me feeling dead tired and ready to fall down. My feet may never forgive me. This getting older stuff stinks!

Tomorrow, it's back to work. I have peaches to can tomorrow night but I'm going to go look at a house first. I'm beginning to suspect that house hunting is simply an educational experience and there are no actual results. The last two I've looked at, or tried to look at, have sold in 72 hours. This one is an apparent huge value and it went on the market yesterday. I suspect by 6:00 tomorrow, when I'm scheduled to see it, it will already be sold.
