I mentioned that I turned the heat way down, right. Somehow, with the thermostat completely off there is an abundance of heat pouring through the kitchen ceiling. I finally had to flip all the breakers labelled "heat" to shut it down. Uncontrolled heat from an unknown source worries me. Now I will be totally without heat, other than the space heaters, until I can get some alternative solution installed.
From one extreme to the other! Stupid $@&$@& house!

Em... radiant ceiling heat? If so, I'm guessing the control that handles that zone failed.

Yes indeed. The most inefficient heating system on the planet (unless trying to warm the house with your own body heat is a system). Thanks for the info. I'll probably tap dad to switch out the thermostat in that room and the living room, which doesn't seem to be heating at all.
