hlmauera: (knitting)

Last year, for some reason I didn't get much done in the way of knitting. I did spend a month making myself some clothes but I only finished five knitted projects and one crocheted project. I suspect, but I don't want to verify, that a lot of what I gave for Christmas last year was actually finished in this year and the stress of my over-achieving Christmas turned me off of knitting for a while. This year I was a little more realistic but also a bit more disappointed in my achievements. So in quick overview here are my finished projects.

Multinomah

Chevron socks for Carrie

Dogwood blossom baby blanket (crocheted)

Mom's Selbu gloves

2 weeknights with Warrick scarf for Carrie

Travelling roses scarf for mom- still needs to be blocked (I need blocking wires first).

Sooo... this year I'd like to be a little more prolific.

I want to do frozen leaves for my sister. I have silver grey "Gloss" for it.

But I'd kinda like this year to be about me. I don't have anything that I have knitted for myself. My shawl, of course felted so I don't even have it. I'm having a hard time committing to a project. I have a few things on the needles still but I'm not in love with anything.

I have the yarn to make Leaving and Krista:

Leaving

Krista

I also think I have the yarn to make Pretty as a Peacock

And french press slippers

I also want to make Sprossling but I don't have the yarn yet.

I need a a cowl/wimple to keep my head warm and a bed cap for these cold winter nights.
There are a half a million other patterns I could love.

On the other hand, if I start early I could have a less stressful Christmas. I'd like to make Humphrey for my father,

The Fair Isle tam for my niece

I want to knitted mitts for my cousin and aunt but I haven't chosen a pattern. My aunt is freezing her fingers off delivering mail and my cousin's illness keeps her hands cold.
There are hundreds of mitt patterns and they are pretty quick to knit. These would need to be done quickly now though.

Sooooo I'm indecisive. Any help?

Do yourself the slippers, then do the vest for your dad, then the peacock for you as the at home progect and the mits as the travel project!

I like Marians suggestion.

Do one thing for yourself, then something for Christmas, then something else for yourself, then Christmas, so on and so forth.
