I watched Oprah last night, which is unusual, and she was doing a show (re-run) on "Don't stop believing"--those stories that stop you in your tracks. She spoke with a girl who went from living on Skid Row to attending Harvard; To a man who went from migrant worker to the space program; and she started it off with the quest by the group Journey to find a new lead singer.

Arnel Pineda was singing for his supper on the streets of Manila. He was homeless and was making whatever money he could singing on the street or in pick up bands. Someone posted a video of him on YouTube singing "Faithfully." Neal Schon saw the video and invited him to try out for the band. It took him a while to realize that it wasn't a hoax. He tried out and got the lead singer position. His voice is amazing. I find it nearly indistinguishable from the original singer and he brings youth and vitality back to the band. He still finds it unbelievable and is incredibly humble and a bit embarrassed by all the hoopla. It was a truly amazing story.

Being a total Journey junkie (and having seen them live over and over again) I LOVED LOVED LOVED this!!

Did you see the Oprah show or are you simply excited to have them back in top form? I really like their music too. I never go to concerts so I haven't seen them but I think they will put on some pretty good shows.
