hlmauera: (Panther)

This is better.  A little lighter, a little more feminine (with gratuitous cat butt).  It is going to get dirty faster but it's probably worth it.

Yesterday was a comedy of imposible circumstances.  I applied to be a non-degree seeking student at OSU so I can take the Stats class I need for my job.  Yesterday I received an email telling me I must submit my immunization records...never mind that I've gotten two degrees from OSU already and they had my immunization records then.  I called the health center- they destroyed my file.  My pediatrician, who would have been the one to administer most of my immunizations, retired long ago and his practice has been sold, perhaps many times since then.  My mom doesn't have the records, so the last place, that I knew, the records were was at OSU.  But no, those have been destroyed.  On the off chance that my foolish young self might have responsibly transferred my medical records to the Corvallis clinic I called them to see if they might have them.  Although they aren't supposed to tell me anything over the phone, she indicated that I had some sort of records in their warehouse but since they aren't digital, she couldn't tell me what.  So I submitted a request for them to transfer my records to my current physician, just in case.  I also called my high school because my last MMR was administered in the lunch room after we had a measles outbreak.  They don't have my file (not surprising) and the district office will have to get back to me.  The lady at Corvallis Clinic was very helpful though and told me to contact Immunization Alert for Oregon since vaccinations are considered vital statistics, the records are supposed to be kept forever.  So, hopefully, I'll have something there.  Unfortunately, I HAD chickenpox and not the vaccine (it didn't exist yet) so I have no date for that vaccine.  I also did not have the Hepatitis B vaccine because it also didn't exist.  It's now required but it's a six month process to get all the shots, so that's not going to happen before my spring term class.  I know there is a titer test to indicate whether I have immunity to the required diseases and I might have to do that.  I'll see what shows up in the next couple of weeks.  I suppose I should start the Hep B vaccine- it's good to have, regardless.  Just more expenses- although maybe the insurance will cover it.  I may or may not take the course.  The Assoc. Dean is insisting I take it next term, whether I receive credit or not.  I'm not very pleased with the non-credit option.
