hlmauera: (Panther)
I bought a new bed on Friday and it was delivered yesterday.  Stupid me should have taken a tape measure.

It fits but only if there isn't anything else in the room.  My beautiful antique dresser is now a sideboard in the dining room- there was absolutely NO WAY to get it in the room.  There are 10 drawers under the bed so I was able to transfer stuff from the dresser but I was really hoping to have extra storage not just change the type of storage.  There is a little more space because I also fit the contents of the trunk that used to sit at the foot of my bed and a couple of very small plastic drawers.  I don't like the way the bedroom looks right now.  Something is off and makes it feel cold and almost masculine.  I couldn't get the rug in with the bed in the new orientation so the floors are bare and a bit cold.  I'll have to do something about that but I'm not sure what exactly.

I was able to get the small dresser back in but it doesn't match anything. AND it scratched the crap out of the floor.  I'll have to find the repair kit to fix multiple long scratches.

The cats seem to think it would be a fine launching point to get to the top of the closet

I will be the first to admit I was a first class, A #1 bitch during this process.  I was so mad, disappointed, and frustrated that I took it out on my mom who was just trying to help.  Thankfully, she stuck it out and I managed  to find a small sense of humor after several three stooges moments between us.  I have a knarly cut and bruise on my arm where I ran into the corner of the dresser; I manage to hit it everytime I set my arm down on the arm of my work chair today.  It took 4 very long hours to get things to this point and there is still a pile of stuff in the livingroom- mostly garb- to go through.

It didn't help that we had to call a plumber to fix the pipes beyond the sink.  Apparently, they don't like anything run through the garbage disposal and were packed tight.  There was an audible sucking noise when the clog finally cleared. Stupid old pipes.

Thankfully, Mom took care of the $86 bill.  I still have to take care of the $800 in medical bills from my ER visit.  I object strenuously to the bill for the doctor's time since he couldn't be bothered with my issues and sent me home without doing anything reasonably diagnostic (but charged me $707 for his 15 minutes of arrogance). The ultrasound I had last Tuesday did show gallstones but no current inflamation.  I'm sure if he'd bothered to do the ultrasound he would have seen gallstones with inflamation. For the moment, surgery is optional.  I just have to determine how many attacks I can stand.

I am working on my sixth week of daily Zumba.  I feel better during the day when I do my 40 minutes at 5:00 am but getting up is a challenge-especially with less than 6 hours of sleep most nights.  Maybe someday I'll see a difference but I do appreciate the difference in how I feel.
