Erk...

Thursday, not long after I got to work, I started feeling a stabbing pain in my back just below my right shoulder blade.  I know what that means but I was at work and not home so there was nothing to be done for it.  As the pain started radiating trhough my ribs and to my upper abdomen, I tried to breathe through it.  I know these attacks are short lived but after a few minutes, I didn't think I could just breathe through it and, with tears streaming down my face I asked my coworker to take me to the urgent care.  Of course, being on campus, vehicles are not easily accessible so there was a wait while the closest vehicle was located and brought around.  We went to the closest Urgent care which, turned me away because they didn't have an ultrasound and told me I had to go to the ER.  I didn't want to go to ER, the insurance only pays 50% if you aren't admitted on an ER visit and by the time we got to the ER, the pain has passed.  But they still did the intake.
And then, I had to deal with an insufferable doctor who basically thoguht I was a waste of his time and probably a hyperchondriac. The nurse did bloodwork and a UA but the doctor refused any other diagnostics and dismissed my evaluation that it was probably my gallstones. (The pain should only be on the right side!  Thanks dr.  have you never heard of referred pain?)  Once the blood work came back that I didn't have an infection he dismissed me and sent me home.  I was incredibly irritated but too tired to care.  I went home and there I stayed until Saturday.  I slept most of Friday because, apparently, pain makes you tired.

Saturday was a shopping day for Midwinters and we made soup and lots of little buisquit cookies that are filled with rose flavored marsipan.

We also processed piles and piles of pumpkin gourds.

Sunday was an annual church meeting and then home for a relaxed afternoon.

Monday, being a holiday, was determined to be a quiet, "I'm not moving from the house day."  I did a Zumba workout and then worked on my Mystery shawl all day. However, about 4:00 decided I didn't like the way I had changed the center decrease so I pulled it all out and started again.  It was rather discouraging but better now than when it's done.  It looked like this before I frogged it.

I also spent the weekend ruminating about how to make little changes in my life.  So last night I packed my lunch, set out all my clothes and my breakfast items and set the alarm for 30 minutes earlier.  With that little prep work, I was able to fit in a 40 minute workout and catch up on some correspondence this morning.  The idea is that I will be able to get in a workout every week day this way and I will actually get it done.  If I wait until the end of the day, I end up being too tired.  Now, I'll admit to dragging a bit in the morning, but I feel better when I get done, so, hopefully, I can make it stick.  In conjunction with this, I determined that I have to shut down Netflix and start heading to bed by 9:00 most weeknights.  It was still 10:00 before I shut out the light but it wasn't 11:00 so that's some progress.
