Yarnie goodness....
Jan. 11th, 2016 11:37 amYarn, yarn, glorious yarn! I'm not sure what it says that I took zero pictures of 12th night this weekend and yet photographed every yarn acquisition on Sunday and when I got home.
On Sunday after checking out of the hotel, I went over the Timeless Textiles to get a tour and see all the beautiful EPiC lace yarn that Khalja and Olin have been processing. I'd looked at the website but wanted to handle the yarn and see all the colors in person. It was a tad overwhelming but in the "Oh my Goodness, I just want to live here," kind of way. I love, love, loved seeing the process that they use to skein the yarns.I'm not sure why it was so appealing to me but I found it fascinating. I went with a specific project in mind. I wanted to get yarn to do the Aeolian shawl. But I couldn't stop with just one cone. Rooting through the odds and ends boxes and display netted me another 1/4 lb cone of Lilac and some skeins of other colors.
This is the apple blossom color I chose for Aeolian.

Lilac- which is a little lighter purple and less pink.

This is an odd lots but it's showing up much more magenta than purple and it's really a dark purple.

This is also an odd lot but it may be in the mint colorway.

This was a freebie. The yarn tangled with another on the reel and so it will need some care and attention to wind into a usable ball or cake. The color is also off on this one It's more similar to the lilac.

Then, when I arrived home, my order from KnitPicks was waiting for me. More yarn...how fun.
There were two sweaters worth in this order plus some discontinued Stroll tonal colors I wanted to get my hands on.
I bought City Tweed DK in Rhubarb to make the Poet's Pullover sweater.

I bought the Argent Galileo (sport weight) to make the Decimal Sweater. It's really the lighter color. My shadow darkened the top skein.

Then there are the Stroll tonals (Fingering weight)
Pansy

Seashell

Pond (which really is green- not what I think of Pond color being)

Springtime tonal

I need to knit more or I will be approaching SABLE (Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy). Currently, I still can use the stash I have in my lifetime, if I figure out the projects I want to make with it. I'm not making any promises to not buy more yarn though-I don't always have the yarn I want for the project I want to make. However, MOST of the time I only buy if I have a project in mind. I do make impulse purchases if I fall in love with the color or the feel of the yarn though.
I'm ready to dive into knitting projects but I still need to finish a dragon.
