I've been having trouble with dizziness and feeling lightheaded since Tuesday night. I stayed home Wednesday thinking my neck was causing the issue and that rest and a horizontal position might fix the problem. Thursday I went to work but still felt icky so I scheduled a massage, thinking that might help my neck. Today was no better. I went to work but came home at noon. Turning my head or moving my eyes caused earthquakes in my brain! I was told not to go to the chiropractor after the last X-ray so I decided to go to urgent care and see if they could write a script for muscle relaxants or perhaps have some other suggestion. I thought maybe they'd do a cervic X-ray and load me up with Flexeril.
I came home with a script for antibiotics, steroids, and motion sickness medication. It turns out that I have a sinus infection that, combined with the chronic allergic rhinitis and the muscular inflammation in my neck, is putting lots of pressure on my inner ear. It's inflamed and she was seeing fluid bubbles on the left one (Whatever that means). I wasn't expecting that!
I see myself spending a good portion of my weekend in bed with frequent trips to the restroom when the augmenten starts to work. The Meclizine will make me sleepy, the Medrol may make me manic like prednisone does. It could be interesting.
