Trying to be cheerful...
Jun. 28th, 2015 10:28 pmI'm not terribly successful at being cheerful when I'm at work, thinking about work or the job hunt, or when dealing with a hatch of baby spiders cascading down my bathroom wall for the second night in a row. So whenever possible, I am working on pretty cheerful things like:

a wee little baby dress.
Or

a rainbow baby blanket (cause babies like bright colors and they make me happy).
I've turned in three applications and received two "thanks, no thanks" emails. I have another one ready to turn in as soon as I receive some letters of reference. My letter writers are in Europe and Canada or on other vacations so it's been a bit slow to get them. I'm a little concerned because this job has been posted for two months already and I don't want it to close before I can apply.
In other news, the oil from my frying pan decided to spit at me and got the tip of my right thumb with a large glop of grease. It has been numb since. I'm not sure what it's going to do yet. The milder splashes on my arm are red and a little puffy already.

I also can't decide whether to sign up for my circuit weight class over the summer. It's good for me but it's in an unair conditioned basement that is sweltering in the normal weather. I think it will be unbearable in the 103 degree weather they are predicting and it seems hot weather is going to be the norm this summer. I'm not good at working out by myself, nor do I have the equipment. I need to decide by Wednesday. I am definitely signing up for water aerobics though. The water feels great in this weather and the new instructor keeps us moving aerobicly for at least 30 minutes.
I made a pretty bouquet to chase away the blues but I'm still picking the little thorns out of my hands.

And, I guess life just keeps going on.
