Good and bad...
Oct. 6th, 2014 05:11 pmToday was that lovely day of the year set aside for the Annual Exam! Only, it wasn't. Because I do not have a partner and I'm HPV negative, I don't have to have an exam except every 3-5 years! Hooray for that! There has to be an upside to being alone. Although I'm now 40 so its mammogram time.
But we had lots of other things to talk about. I've been having GI issues. The gut isn't moving much at all which is, at the very least, uncomfortable. She thinks I have a dairy intolerance which is causing the problem and she wants me off dairy. I'm already on a low grain, low sugar diet. Dairy was about the only thing left in my diet that I enjoyed. *grump* but when the doctor says, "if you don't go off dairy you will likely have an increased risk for bowel cancers," I guess you have to listen. She asked me to try it for 4 weeks and I'd know by then if that was the issue. Well crap! I have nothing to eat in my house, I just made a big pot of cheddar cauliflower chowder. I can't have my quesadilla for dinner. I can't even have a cheeseburger! This sucks in a big way and I don't even know how to cook without some dairy. What can I eat? Anyone have ideas? Oh and low acid because I'm having reflux problems still and have to increase my medication for that. Food really isn't worth contemplating right now. Pardon me while I go sulk in a corner.
