I did not get it all done....
Nov. 10th, 2012 10:43 pmI didn't get all the painting done, which was no surprise really. Today was short on painting time and long on errands. I did get two chairs for the living room. One slightly used recliner and one new swivel chair. I believe I got a good deal- both for $345. I used Mom's camera to take pictures so I'll get those from her tomorrow. I also picked up a four drawer dresser to use as a night stand. It will be a little taller than necessary but I should be able to see my clock then. I really wanted a small three drawer but the furniture stores started them at $295 and they were pretty useless for storage. This one was $90 and will double as a dresser, I count that as a win.
The bathroom is finished except for the shower rod install. I got one of the curved kind instead of a straight one. I hate having the shower curtain touching me in the shower.
We finished painting the sapphire room. It looks white right now, I'm not sure if the blue will show with such a dark carpet but it's ok, it's fresh and clean and that's the most important part. We even managed to cover the dark blue paint completely. We'll need to paint the window sills yet and clean and reinstall the blinds.
The guest room is done except for one coat of paint on the sills and a little scrubbing on the blinds.
I picked up baseboards for my bedroom and the little places where they are missing. I got what I liked but it doesn't necessarily match in the places it will be used. We'll see how that works out. I may replace some pieces instead of just filling in the missing ones. At this point, it's only imperative that the baseboards get done in my bedroom. The rest can wait if necessary. I don't have the tools to cut them anyway.
Dad finished walling off the crawl space in the garage- but now we can't find an external entrance anywhere. *sigh* It must be somewhere but we haven't found it.
I picked up a cat door for the garage which will need to be installed also. I have lots of little installations that need to be done. Closet rods, shower rods, shelves, motion sensor lights, etc. I need a good handy man for a day.
Tomorrow after church I may try to paint the accent wall in the living room so then all that is left is white paint. I will need to get valances for some of the windows--they all have rods.
The list IS getting smaller, finally but there's a lot of fiddly stuff yet. I'm still nervous about getting it all done.
