Today was not a great day.

I got up at a reasonable time (7:45), packed some boxes of books, placed orders for the birthday and anniversary cards I send to all my family members, ordered new return address labels for the new house, and got ready to leave. My first clue should have been that it was already after noon.

My errands today included:

Going to a pool and spa sales and repair facility to find out how to fix the FLO error on my hot tub. I know what it means but I didn't know how to fix it. They recommended removing the filter, throwing the breaker and turning it back on- it didn't get rid of the error. I did it twice. Then I installed a new filter, put everything back together and threw the breaker again- same results. I waited several hours and tried again, still no luck but about 30 minutes later when I pressed the switch for the jets, everything came on again. Don't know what the problem is but I left it on so I can sit in it tomorrow.

Going to Lane Bryant and buying more bras, even though I have to completely mutilate them to make them comfortable- they are comfortable then, which is more than I can say for the only two other styles I found in Portland and Eugene that fit. I managed to get paint on my only neutral colored bra so I had to go get a couple of others. I lost a wire in my only white one last week so I was due for a replacement.

Picking up the flooring from Home Depot. It actually wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be and because my dad is a Vet and could show his ID I also got 10% off. I'm really glad about this because of what happened just before I got to Home Depot, but I'll get to that.

Stopping at Fred Meyer to to browse for simple kitchen chairs in the right color, throw rugs, anything else that seemed appropriate, including seating for the living room. I've been to Walmart and Shopko looking for chairs, and everything is dark wood. I needed a light wood color to match the table. Fortunately, they had some simple windsor style chairs on sale so I picked up four. That's all I saw that I wanted. There were a couple of rugs that were beautiful but a little more than I wanted to spend and I'm not sure what I'm going to need anyway. Besides.....

Pulling out of the parking lot at the mall my cell phone rang. It was my parents so I answered it and then fumbled grabbing for my headset. It was in my hand and on when the cop pulled me over and wrote me a ticket. $110 POOF! 17 years without a ticket and then this. I know, it's against the law and I rarely ever do it. I was trying to get into compliance but it didn't matter. I can write a letter but I don't know what good it will do. Hopefully, it doesn't raise my auto insurance, because more expenses right now are not going to make me happy.

So, after that I finally got headed over to the house. It was already after 3:30 and nothing was getting done. The roofers didn't make it today for family reasons and it's too bad because it might have been a decent day to be on the roof. However, Monday-Wednesday are supposed to be clear. Dad narrowed the gate a little so it's not dragging along the side of the house, then he worked on getting the shelving down in the garage so that we can block off the crawl space access. It's going to be a tricky build but I trust my dad on this one. However, I think he spent more time picking up nails than anything else- he does putter now that he's older.

Mom worked on finishing up the ceiling. I tried to start removing the caulking on the tub so I can re-caulk it but I ended up needing better tools and couldn't get them at BiMart. I took a turn scraping and vacuuming, then started painting the ceiling and the walls in the closet. The aqua color is really hard to cover with my light sage. Fortunately, the rest of the room has already got a coat of white over the blue so it shouldn't be as difficult.

Unfortunately, that's all that got done today. It seems like we are moving at a snails pace and I'm afraid it's not going to be ready before I have to move. However, things are getting checked off the very long list, just not rapidly. I think there is a lot of prep time on many of the tasks so we work and work and nothing gets done, and then suddenly it's done.

And now....I'm going to bed. Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour!
