I have more paperwork for the house. It still doesn't make much sense so, for the moment, I'm ignoring it.
It's been a long time since I talked about knitting, I think....
I'm working on something new: Inspire me. I think the name is kind of silly but I was looking for something simple with stripes for my sister in law. She's not a lacy kind of gal. She also will not wear wool, which is by far the easiest fiber to knit with. However I'm using Misti Alpaca Tonos Pima Silk which I thought had some alpaca fiber in it but it says it's 83% cotton and 17% silk. Usually, I hate working with cotton because it has no give and my hands hurt after just a few minutes. This isn't hard to work with in that way, fortunately. The silk must really make a difference (But I would have sworn it was the alpaca fiber). The main color is a navy blue and the accent color is a rusty orange, colors my SIL loves.
I'm also trying to figure out a pattern that will work for a little boy who wants a cape and has stolen his mother's shawl.
I've saved some options: Dancing Batty, Autumn in Vincennes, Nancy and Judy, Harry Shawl, Basta, Mardi Gris, Dragon or Fairy wing, Malus Domestica, Melting in the Sun, or Florine. I'm sure there are other options as well but I'm really at a loss to determine what it is that he likes so much about the shawl so that he will like the one he's been given better. I have very little experience with little boys (and I have two godsons!). Any input would be appreciated. Candy, do you have any idea?
