What was and what is...
Sep. 17th, 2012 09:26 amI had a great time at the beach this weekend. Saturday was glorious and I spent five hours sitting on the beach reading a book. I wore my big floppy hat but forgot to protect my arms from the sun and my legs below my skirt hem. I'm a little crispy around those edges but nothing too severe. Sunday was foggy but since we had church in the morning and I had to leave in the afternoon, it didn't matter too much. Some of our friends took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch and we had a nap and did some reading after that. I packed up to head home about 6:00 which meant I arrived home a little after 8:00. Unpacking and setting things to right took until almost 10 but I still wanted to ready the rest of my book. I finished about midnight, silly me, and that made four books read over the weekend. I can't remember the last time I was able to do that. It made for a rather short night, however and I didn't sleep well because of anticipating today.
This morning marks the day when all the faculty are supposed to be back at work. I expected a busy day but so far it's been remarkably quiet. This is unfortunate, because as I write this they are doing the inspection on the house. I'm on pins and needles waiting to find out if there is something significant that is going to block my ability to purchase it, if it will be completely sound and ready to move to the next step, or if I will need to make some repairs that are within my budget in order to move forward. My tummy is tied up in knots. I know I won't get an official report until at least tomorrow but I should get an unofficial report around noon.
