All grown up....
Aug. 13th, 2012 10:46 amI'm on vacation this week...which, of course, means running around like a crazy person trying to get everything done before I have to go back to work. However, the first act of my vacation was to put an offer on a house. It's a short sale, with two lenders, which means it won't be a quick process even if they accept the offer (which is contingent upon a new roof).
I think it has good bones but it needs work. The yard is a jungle of weeds but has several nice features and beautiful rosebushes. The carpeting in the house will have to be replaced. I'm hoping with laminate because that's just easier for me with my allergies and cats. Currently, it still looks like someone will be back any moment but I'm suspicious the owner has been transferred to a care facility or is deceased. It's obviously a home where a disabled/elderly person lived. The bathroom will need some serious scrubbing to remove the odor of urine.
The bedrooms are small, but there are three of them so I can work with that. I have room for my bed, dresser and side table in one so it's possible. The closets are lined in cedar!!!! That makes for a happy dance right there. There is a large pantry and a large linen closet. It also has a fireplace. It has a large garage with built in shelving and perhaps a large work bench (don't know if it's built in or mobile). It also has a utility room with a half bath. So...keeping my fingers crossed but trying not to get my hopes up too much.
