I have finished two skirts but I haven't had any pictures taken of them yet. I spent most of yesterday trying to piece together a skirt with less than a half a yard of vintage fabric and a 1.5 yards of modern fabric. I think it turned out well, although I am really irritated that I can't seem to make yokes on skirts actually fit my waist, they always end up being too loose. I need to make one fix- I had a seem that didn't get properly finished and I noticed it had popped open (That little space below a zipper that has a lapped application can be a dangerous spot for seams.) I'd take a picture but my camera batteries are dead and for some reason all the double A batteries have disappeared.

Next up in the queue is a pair of converted jeans. I've determined that I really don't like wearing jeans, they bind and make me uncomfortable. I have a few for times like camping but I'm going to convert a majority into skirts- at least the ones that have nice details. I wouldn't bother except there is some really cool embroidery on the jeans. I've torn out the first pair except the center front and back seams. I think I'm going to put in side plackets because, although they fit, they don't exactly flatter when they are that tight.

I have so many beautiful fabrics for skirts that I'd like to get done but there just aren't enough hours in the days. I also have a cute knit that I'd like to get made up into a dress and several other dress materials. Eeeee..that work thing just gets all over in my way.

Today, I'm really quite done. I went to Mom and Dad's picked a gallon bag of blueberries and then washed the side of the house with a scrub brush. It was rather green but the siding is supposed to be yellow. Dad keeps saying he'll take the pressure washer to it but his shoulder still isn't up to it. Since he is so confident that he can do it, he's refused to show me how to run the washer (or where it is) so I did it the old fashioned way. I only did one side with the scrub brush but I sprayed off the front of the house. The front doesn't have the same problem with fungal growth that the north side has and it has been washed recently so I didn't put a lot of effort into it. I got the ladder out to do the top of the side but I know my limits so, although the part of the house over the garage could have used a scrub, I knew I wasn't safe to be up on the ladder at that point.

Now I'm home and my hands are very sore. The boys upstairs woke me up last night and I had to asked them to quiet down at about 3:00 this morning. They brought me flowers as an apology. Sweet kids, even though the haze of blue smoke when they opened the door was enough to almost knock me over. It's nice to have considerate neighbors.
