San Diego morning...
May. 8th, 2012 07:43 amThis isn't a bad way to wake up:

Lukas had a swimming party and sleep over with Auntie Kristin last night. He was very good, no seperation anxiety or anything.
At first Lukas was pretty timid in the water and didn't want to leave the stairs but eventually I coaxed him to let me hold him in the deeper water. Then we motored around a bit with him kicking gleefully. I even got him to jump off the side to me a couple of times. The pool was not hot but it wasn't too cold either. However, after the sun was fully down, the air got a bit chilly. I took Luke into the hot tub for a few minutes. At first he was scared that it was too hot but eventually he relaxed and enjoyed sitting on my lap.
Afterwards, we came back upstairs and I put him in the bath. When he was done, I set him down to watch TV and eat graham cracker cookies while I took a quick shower. Of course, as soon as I was in the shower, he spilled his glass of water but it wasn't too bad- just a few drips on the floor. Candy called to check on us and suggested that Luke might need to cuddle for sleep so we did just that until he said I was too warm. However, within minutes of curling up next to me, he was asleep.
I'm having a very nice time over all. I'm not even too stressed driving Candy's car around. The drive between their house and my condo is about 24 minutes but a fairly straight shot. The GPS is an extra insurance/assurance.
I'm doing pretty well so far with the scrapbook. I set up an electronic scrapbook using the creative memories Storybook creator before I left. I put aside two pages per day and put the dates on them, knowing that I'd have to add more pages as I went. So, at the end of each day, I download my camera and start dropping pictures into the scrapbook. The journalling takes the longest but it's good to have a record. When I get home I'll do a few final edits and then send it to be printed. Much easier than waiting 5 years before getting around to it.
If you'd like to see more pictures, I've posted them on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3873491719197.2166421.1335791977&type=1&l=5a22bd86ea
