Sugar napalm...ETA unbandaged photo
Dec. 20th, 2011 04:55 pmNote to self:
Peanut brittle off the stove at 305 degrees F. is REALLY HOT! Sugar napalm hurts...A LOT!

I'm thankful my mom lives close enough to come play nurse at 9:30 at night. We tried a new remedy...egg whites. It may have worked but having no prior experience with this level of burn I don't know if it's better than it might have been. Lidocane is a wondrous thing too.
Left thumb and forefinger are out of commission for a while. Remaining holiday knitting and crocheting will have to wait until I have two working hands; some presents will be late. Bah!
It's amazing what you discover you can't do with one hand. Braiding my hair today? Not happening. Fastening pants...difficult at best. Fortunately, the typing parts of both fingers are fine so typing is okay. Moving boxes around is not terribly easy though so I'm letting the students do most of it. Fortunately, I got my office set up and ready to go. Pictures will come later.
