Ten on Tuesday...
Sep. 13th, 2011 05:01 pmThis week's Ten on Tuesday is: Things you buy every week that are not groceries.
If we don't count food, the only thing I buy EVERY week is gas for the car. Hmmmm....Unnecessary groceries? I tend to buy ice cream at least once a week. I don't know...
I like last week's better so I think I'll try that one: Ten things I want to knit this fall/winter. In no particular order:
1. Catkin (Rav link) I have plans to do one as a gift for Christmas but I'd like one myself. The trick with this one is to figure out if you want subtle colors or bright and bold colors. I can't figure it out for myself. I have the yarn for the gift version already and it will be subtle. It's Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine in burgundy/purple and gray.
2. Fiori di Sole (Rav link) I have a beautiful pink Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud Laceweight for this shawl and it's ALLL for MEEEEE!
3. Volna (Rav link) I want to use one of the knitpicks Chroma yarns that I have to make the medium wide version. Unfortunately, I need two skeins and I only have one of each of the colors. I'll have to order another before I can do this.
4. Krista Tee (Rav link) This is sort of cheating because it's already started but I really really want to finish it and get over the sweater fear.
5. Seamless Infant Kimono (Rav link) I'm going to have a baby to knit for...How fun. This is a highly recommended pattern for babies and it's simple enough for a beginner to knit;. maybe it won't be too frightening!
6. Cadence Socks(Rav link) This is also started and I actually have one sock done and the other well on the way. I just need to finish up.
7. Baby Surprise jacket (Rav link) This is another popular baby jacket but I'm not sure how available the pattern actually is. I'd like to try it if I can get the pattern.
8. Freya Shawl (Rav link) I started this shawl in Feb of 2010 and stalled out because I had other things I wanted to make for other people. I still like the pattern and the yarn so I should get it finished.
9. Around the World Quilt (Rav link) This one is actually a crochet project but I promised it to Robert and Carrie as a combined birthday/Christmas gift this year. It's made up of hundreds of two inch blocks. Not hard to crochet but incredibly tedious. There are 52 blocks in each color, 207 black and 300 Blue. I didn't promise it would be done by Christmas but I do want to get it done for them this winter.
10. More wool socks...I don't have a specific pattern in mind. There are dozens that appeal so I don't have time to narrow it down tonight.
