Sunflowers for Christmas
Jul. 12th, 2011 10:34 pmI'm working on the Sunflower lap-ghan as a Christmas present. I made the first granny square and thought the sunflower looked a little anemic

So I added three double crochets into each yellow post and along the top of the chain one between the double crochets. (*slip stitch to right hand post of first petal, working left DC 3 on post, DC three on Chain 1 space, DC 3 on next post, slip stitch on same post, repeat from *)It raises the flower off the surface and gives it more definition.
Looking at them side by side I can see that there is some merit to not having the extra bulk, the flower is clearer but I still think it looks anemic and will continue my way. What do you think?
