I can't even keep today straight....

It seems like today was one major thing after another. (Times are approximate)

8:30 I was notified of a dissertation defense for a student with whom I haven't spoken about the dissertation process. I notified the professors that she needs to come see me when she's done....she makes 13 that are due by the 29th.
9:00 Called Copy services to check on the status of missing copier and the status of the software that will allow us to limit copies. Leave a message
10:00 Thesis student calls to tell me that her thesis will be ready today to be picked up from multimedia student services.
10:45 Set up a conference call as the final call for the accreditation visit.
11:30 Sam asked me about the dossier that that was to be reviewed....I didn't keep a published copy so I needed to make arrangements to get a copy from the Provosts office.
I called the provosts office and arrange to send a student to get a copy.
11:45 Provosts office calls back to tell me the dossier can't leave the office and make arrangements for my student to scan a copy to me from their copier.
11:45 Receive email indicating thesis is ready to be picked up.
11:45 Doctoral student shows up to talk about dissertation
11:47 Grad school calls to discuss a dissertation
11:50 Talk to doctoral student
12:10 Quick bathroom trip and race out the door to take a walk with Sara.
12:50 Make a sandwich and scarf food.
12:58 Ask student to pick up Thesis from multimedia student services
1:00 Start phone interviews
2:00 Check on Thesis...discover the formatting is not correct in any way. Start chasing clues. Send email to student asking if she submitted a pdf. Direct student to make her own printed copy and send it instead.
Receive message from copy services denying existance of 4th copier. Call back and leave a message assuring them that there is a copier in that location and that it has xxx identification code.
2:30 Back to interviews
3:00 Received another call denying existance of copier and insisting I'm confused about location. Leave another message assuring them that it exists in that location and yes there is a copier in the other location as well that is paid for by a different unit.
Save pdf's scanned from provosts office for consolodation later.
Send irritated email to CN about two days worth of "we're to busy to answer the phone" messages ask them to set up new copiers as printers when they can get a few minutes. I can't print a copy of the dossier until the copier is set up so I can do two sided printing.
4:00 Check back on Thesis. Get message that Dept. Chair needs to speak to me re thesis signature. Meet her for signature, talk about formatting issues on other thesis. Get clarification that pdf is correct and printing service made a mess of it. Will have to follow up later.
4:15 Dept chair talks to Boss and I about an issue regarding students.
4:30 Back into interviews
5:10 go home! At least away from work...

Picked up Marian and walked to St. Vincent de Paul. I found a carpet bag for my trip...it was 25% off of 3.99. It's only lightly used and I see no problems other than the shoulder strap is missing. Took Marian home early and came home to veg. Soooo tired.
