Doctors...

I had my appointment with the Gastroenterologist today. It was not at all what I was hoping for. I really wanted to see a dietician but the doctor wanted me to start with the GI specialists. So I went. The conclusion of the matter was pretty much what I've known all along but the doctor wants me to have an upper endoscopy to check to see if I have any changes in my esophogus because of the GERD. They will also do a biopsy on the upper intestine to check for ciliacs. Then she wants to do a colonoscopy to make sure there isn't any inflamatory disease or cancer. *sigh* I don't want to do either. She says it's not urgent...anytime in the next year. That's good because I don't have two day's leave to take care of it and I don't have coverage at the office either. Additionally, the procedure has to be done in Corvallis and someone has to drive me there and back. So... How does next August sound?
