Assorted thoughts of the last few weeks
Nov. 14th, 2008 08:15 amThey started harvesting the Christmas trees on the 3rd. Mostly they have been wrapped and are sitting in grand piles waiting to ship until after Thanksgiving (maybe?). I know I live in a green state but I always forget that there are places in the US where you can't go out and cut your own tree. These trees will go there. But how disappointing it must be to have a tree stay green for a diminished amount of time because it had to sit for two or three weeks waiting to ship.
When I paid the bills this month. I deliberately paid for my Rx with my debit card from Selco. A week and a half later, I still hadn't received my Rx and Selco had no charge. So I called on Monday and then had this horrified thought...what if they billed my regular account at OSUF? There isn't enough money in there. So while I was on the phone, I checked and, sure enough, they'd billed my other account. "It was on file" the customer service person said. But there wasn't enough money and so they charged me the $28 NSF fee and the bank charged me a $4 check return fee. So the $25 that I would have paid for my Rx had morphed into $53. I was incredibly irritated. I'd included the correct billing information on my request. Fortunately, the people at PPSRx were very nice and they assured me that they'd reverse any and all charges. This morning when I checked they had indeed done so and included enough to cover the cost of the bank fee. The bank also refunded the fee so I ended up $4 ahead. I consider it pain and suffering allowance (do you think I should return it?)
