12th night...
Jan. 6th, 2011 03:24 pmWell 12th night is almost here and I didn't have time to make anything new.
As much as I love Elizabethan and Italian Ren, my body isn't very happy with the weight of the fabrics. So I've been leaning more towards my t-tunics, even though I don't like them nearly as much. I'd love to do Gothic fitted gowns but those require at least one other person to fit you who knows exactly what they are doing. There are a couple people in this area that I know have this knowledge. One is very much too busy and the other I don't know well at all but when I tried to sound her out it seemed like she indicated that she wasn't interested in helping me. So I have to let that go.
Unfortunately, I find tunics boring and have no creativity to make them less so. I can recreate but not create embellishment, so the fact that there is very little extant material to work from means I haven't any hope in hot places of coming up with something. T-tunics are easy to wear and move in, which is an advantage, especially when on retinue. So I think I've convinced myself that I'll wear my tunics for 12th night but I don't feel attractive in them which is disappointing for such a high court event- particularly when standing behind the principality thrones.

A plain flat bedsheet queen or king size is a great base. Just re-hem it to make it look less like a sheet on the top and you'll have something comfortable to wear!
