Prepping for nutritional consult
Feb. 13th, 2017 10:13 amI'm meeting with a nutritionist on Friday so I've been trying to prep a list of dietary issues. This is what I'm remembering thus far. If you have cooked for me recently and remember something else I'm picky about (I'm less likely to remember the things I simply don't like) feel free to remind me. As you can see, a lot of my diet right now is, well, white.
GERD triggers:
- Whole grains
- Mint
- Large amounts of citrus or acidic foods
- Heavy spices (and curry)
- Chocolate
IBS triggers (LOW FODMAP):
- Whole grains (including white rice but rice and wheat products fully processed are ok)
- Beans (including soy. Legumes and chickpeas seem ok)
- Fermentable fruit (mostly tree fruit)
- Vegetables? (Salad isn’t digested, Cruciferous veg can cause problems)
- Lactose
- Onions and Garlic
- High levels of seeds
Allergies:
- Bovine dairy products- Respiratory response (Hard cheeses made from sheep and goat's milk are ok in moderation)
- Shell fish- GI upset
- Walnuts & uncooked tomatoes- cause mouth sores
- Caffeine- heart palpitations
Dislikes:
- Asparagus
- Brussel sprouts
- Not a big fan of plain chicken
Other concerns:
- Cholecystectomy
- Hypoglycemia
