Holiday...

Well it turns out that Thanksgiving will be my only celebrated holiday this year. Mom and Dad will be going to CA for Christmas and I can't get any time off after taking six weeks for surgery. Not being able to see my family open their gifts takes all of the joy out of the holiday for me and I'd rather scrap the whole thing. I don't really give two figs about the presents for me, except I know that mom, at least, loves giving them. I enjoy and appreciate them but not as much as I enjoy giving gifts.
I feel like I just want the year to be over and move past the entire Christmas season. Except I am not seeing much to look forward to beyond Christmas either.
