Feeling a little wild....
Mar. 17th, 2016 02:09 pmWhat is it about the dark days before spring really hits that makes me want to buy all the things? Fortunately, I have received my tax return to pay back the amounts I borrowed on my credit card, at least in large part. But I've enjoyed the splurge that I can't do very often.
You've seen my new bed and bedding.
I also bought a bunch of card making supplies....I don't buy many cards and I send cards to everyone in my immediate exended family for birthdays and anniversaries so I think that's justified (that's 88 cards and growing almost yearly). It is also something I do with my mom.
I ordered seven movies that I haven't seen (or have seen and want to add to my collection): Frog princess, Brave, Frozen, Snow White and the Huntsman, Burlesque, Malificent, and Chicago.
I ordered a new bedside'ish lamp. It's a swag chandalier. I haven't received it yet but I'm hopeful it will work in the new bedroom arrangment and that the cats won't be able to knock it down on my head*.
I ordered two canvas pictures and I hope to order some custom ones when they go on sale at Costco. This is one, and this is the other.
Then I got to order some things that have been on my wish list for a while. I went to the String Theory Colorworks website and ordered five skeins of Entanglement. For fun, you could try to guess which colors I ordered. I've heard rave reviews and I love the stripes.
I also ordered a two year subscription to Taproot, which looks delightful. It's an ad free magazine that has a lot of down home projects, crafts and wisdom. I've been reading the blog of one of the authors for a couple of years and have asked for a subscription for two Christmas' now to no avail. So I decided to get it myself.
I also am thrilled to have discovered that my colors are in this season and I bought camis in neon green, yellow, coral, seafoam, teal, and...hmm, another bright color. I'll have to look.
I'm not sure my buying spree is over but I need to stop spending money so it had better be winding down.
*Speaking of cats knocking things down- Tuesday night I couldn't find Simon anywhere and was starting to panic. It turns out he or Helix had knocked the curtain rod down over my bed and in the process, Simon had been knocked down behind the headboard and was stuck in the little cubby space under the headboard. He didn't appear to be hurt.
And now I have to run to a two hour meeting. I'll leave you with a picture of Helix helping.
