Well, it's been a tramatic 24 hours and it's not over yet...Edited to add time and day

My SIL is in ICU after an emergency C-section and uncontrolled bleeding. Her water broke around 12:45 am yesterday morning but she had very few contractions and wasn't dilated. They started her on Pitocin about 2 pm and at 11 pm the baby's heart rate dropped so they took her in for a C-section. The baby required the care of the pediatric emergency team and they are concerned about the effects of the lack of oxygen on her. She is currently on oxygen. The doctor took Tami back into surgery to stop the bleeding and it seems to be controlled for now but if it starts again they may have to do an emergency hysterectomy. Pretty much, it sounds like everyone's worse nightmare of labor and delivery but hopefully everyone is on the mend. It will be touchy for a while for Tami. The baby was 8lbs 6 oz, 17 inches long (?) and she doesn't have a name yet that we know. She was born at 11:33 pm on August 10th.

And her name is...

The baby has been named Lillyana Maree after all four of her grandmothers (Lilly, Marg, Marta, and Mary). Both Lillyana and Tami are doing better tonight although they will both stay in their respective ICU's. Lillyana has been taken off the oxygen and is keeping her levels between 98 and 100%. Tami had her intubation tube removed this afternoon, the edema is going down, and there is much less blood in her drainage. Things are looking up.
