A quick update...
Mar. 11th, 2015 05:14 pm My back is better but not good. I've got an appointment with my GP next Tuesday to discuss the situation, what tests we might need to do, and what therapy options I have. Obviously chiropractic care isn't the answer any more--at least not long term. I get short term relief most of the time but not long term. The pool I get into for my deep water aqua aerobics is heavenly though. When I get in, there is no pressure on my back and unless I try to push specific movements, I usually have little pain.
I have written and rewritten my Position Description at work quite a bit and the HR person thinks we have it covered now. I just really had to remember all the responsibilities I have. You know, things like approving payroll, hiring term to term (without doing approval forms with the dean), managing emergency planning, response, and recovery, etc....
I'm chasing a missing near million dollars that should be left over from our renovation but appears to have been misplaced somewhere. I've located about a quarter of it and my accountant and I are working together to figure out where it has been placed (and how we pay back a loan to a bank that no longer exists). It's convoluted.
Wednesday, I may have jury duty...I'll call Tuesday to find out. It's not convenient and I'm sure work will expect me to keep up with everything here even if I am selected. I suspect my back issues may be a discouragement to my selection but I won't hold my breath on that.
I would have liked to have gone out and taken a hike while the weather was so nice but my back forbid it and I listened. Hopefully we'll get some good weather when my back is feeling better, and hopefully that's soon! I managed to dig two holes big enough to plant my new (bare root) rosebushes in. They had to get into the ground! I even got the mower running, with help, and got the lawns mown for the first time of the year. I have small lawns and I'm contemplating making them even smaller to get more flower beds but any heavy work has to wait.
Spending more time indoors means that I got my taxes done last weekend, and I should be getting a nice refund...mortgage insurance and interest is good for something. I've also managed to baste together a new tunic pattern that Marian and I drafted. We've made revisions and I need to make some adjustments. If it works, we'll tear it all apart and make a pattern.
I'm sure there are other things but I have to run for now.
