Let it be but plan ahead...
Feb. 15th, 2015 07:40 pmSo, I've been fretting about work. Today I decided to just let it go. It's not the end of the world and something will work out somehow.
If the worse should happen I have some ideas. I'm not willing to be demoted. I worked too hard for that and it makes no sense fiscally for the college unless it's personal. If they determine they don't want to keep my position as a faculty position I think my contract protects me until the end of June. At that point, if I refuse to take the demotion, they have to terminate my position. That makes me eligible for unemployment, I think. Unemployment isn't ideal but I think I could make it work until I found another position. I'd have a few months to plan and prepare- maybe even have a new job already. I've been looking at job postings and there are a few at U of O that might be worth applying for. I hadn't planned to change universities but I'll do what I need to do. I hate applying for jobs but I am going to brush up my resume and bite the bullet.
Onward!
