stupid entitled students,..
Oct. 22nd, 2014 11:50 pmI got a nasty email from a student tonight and I've been stewing over it and unable to sleep. Apparently, she is "spending a lot of money on her education" and therefore if she tells me to jump, I should ask "how high, madam?" on the way up. I forwarded it to her advisors requesting feedback on what I'd done to solicit it. After stewing for a while I sent a rigidly polite response and invited her to come talk to me in person. I BCC'd her advisors so they would have all the correspondence. I may have mentioned that my office was in the deans' suite between the dean and associate dean. I might also have included my full title in my signature. I did refrain from putting my degree after my name. It's a little passive aggressive but I think she thinks I'm some peon office worker, (which I sort of am but with a nice title and a lot of responsibly and knowledge). I am so tired, I wish I hadn't checked my email one last time tonight.
