I went to work as an anachronistic construct on Halloween:

Norse-ish hair, silk t-tunics (the outer one is actually purple but it's really hard to tell), Persian pants (also silk) and under tunic, 16th century style boots, and a backwards Obi.  Hmmm...I was aiming for semi-Persian or semi-Moorish.  Mostly people thought I was a pirate.  I had one interesting  discovery...wearing the sash makes my hips hurt.  I love the way the pants, tunic, and boots feel.  I felt confident and "swishy".  I think I probably even had a bit of a swagger.

I was obsessing a bit about how I didn't have anything that was pretty and historically accurate to wear.  I realize that I need to work on that for SCA stuff but for Halloween?  Who cared but me?  Hence the construct.

I bought Halloween candy on the way home from work since it was payday and I finally had funds again.  Unfortunately, no ghosties or ghoulies showed up.  I think the motion sensor porch light was a deterrent because it didn't look like it was on. However, we don't really have a lot of kids in our neighborhood and I didn't get home until after 6.  It all probably just added up to equal no trick-or-treaters.  I still had a nice night.  I sat and watched episodes of MASH while I knitted and had an early bed time. Supper might have been a nice addition but I had a couple of snacks (can we say Cheetos?).  I hate cooking for myself and I need to go grocery shopping.  I contemplated going out to eat but decided not to wander away on Halloween.  It turns out no one would have missed me but that's OK I probably wouldn't have made it to bed so early if I'd gone out.

I've actually been in bed the last two nights before I remembered to do my blessings and challenges posts but I still remembered.  I'm aiming to make sure I do this for 30 days to help refocus my energy on positive things.

Blessings:
A quiet day at work!
Money in the bank so I could make Teavana and paper wishes orders.
Finished taking care of the FEMA paperwork by delivering the elevation certificate to the insurance and dropping a check in the mail to the surveyor.
Enjoyable companionship at work.
Chiro appointment to help my back.
Sweet potatoes harvested from the garden!
Netflix for entertainment.
Hot tub!
Bills mostly paid for the month (only the ones that haven't posted yet are left)

Challenges:
A little bored at work but it's a nice break and it will be busy again soon enough.
Getting out of Corvallis tonight was a challenge because of the game. Thankfully, I don't live in a college town to have to deal with that for more than the few moments it takes to leave.
SAIF sent me another copy of the paperwork I sent in on the 24th with a form letter that doesn't tell me if the haven't received it or if there is a problem. I've called and left a message- I suspect talking to someone in person will clear it up and I have a copy I can fax if they haven't received it.
