This week in my garden: June 8

Do you see my fantastic sprinkler rigging?  The rainbird is fastened to the fence with zip ties but it keeps the water going mostly where it needs to go and not everywhere else.



I had to tranplant one of the basil plants because the potato plant had overrun it and it was rotting in the shade.  Hopefully it will do better in this pot.  I also added a bit of iron to the soil around the beans and the squash plants because they were looking a little yellow.  The carrots and parsnips are coming up very sparcely.  I'm not sure whether to reseed or to wait to see if more come up.  I have a little tiny head of califlower coming on and I have picked two sink fulls of spinach already.  The cresent spinach isn't very flavorful but it also doesn't have the distinctive spinach taste.  I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.
