The beds are in...

Now to get the garden planted. I think I'm going with the square foot method. I wonder how much I can cram into two 8 x 4 beds?

Although there is room for a third bed, I am out of resources and Dad has indicated that he's not sure he wants to install another one, no matter how far in the future it might be. I can't say I blame him really. You'll note the rock in the first picture to the right of the beds next to the fence....for scale purposes the beds are 12 inches tall. It's a big rock! And we had to leave the cement block in the ground. Dad just chipped away the portion that was in the wrong place.

It's a start

I still need more plants and seeds. The squash is in hills on the ground (zucchini, yellow, and acorn with two hills each). I couldn't dig very deep so I filled and mounded potting mix. I have two heritage tomatoes and an indigo blue tomato. There are 12 bean plants and additional seeds. There are two cucumber hills in the planters; I've had difficulty growing cucumbers in the past so I wanted to give them every advantage... And I was tired of digging holes. I have carrot and beat seeds in and one lone basil.
I still want parsnips, onions, peppers, spinach, and maybe a broccoli and cauliflower.

What else do I need? I don't eat green leafys or peas.
