Wide awake
Mar. 9th, 2013 01:29 amIt's 1:00 and I'm wide awake. I think I'm fretting. The kitten is sick or injured but what is wrong is not immediately apparent. He's lethargic and running a fever. The last two days he's just wanted me to leave him alone. Tonight he wants held and cuddled- don't let go or stop. He seems a bit weak in the hind quarters so I'm wondering if he hurt himself being rambunctious. I'm worried because he's not interested in eating or drinking. I'm hoping the cuddle stage means he's on the mend.
Some thing happened at work today that has me worried too. We had a meeting with institutional research to discuss a report that is due in April. During the discussion, my knowledge of assessment was made available to the dean for the first time in technicolor detail. He had to leave before we were completely done but he said to me as he was leaving: "we need to touch base this afternoon and talk about your job."
Erm....eep!
When we did talk, he indicated that he thinks he wants me to be in charge of assessment for the College, including managing the new assessment system that we will be putting into place. However, we aren't sure how to fit that into my current workload. Obviously some things have to go but because it's so intertwined with operations and we don't have anyone to take over those tasks we are having a hard time figuring it out.
Additionally, he indicated that he didn't think office management and supervision were my forte. That's hard to hear but he's probably right. I'm most likely to let those things slide while I'm taking care of other things.
Ultimately, I know things will work out but change is coming and that is always scary to me.
Now, maybe since I've put this all down on "paper" I'll be able to go back to sleep.
