Sometimes life gets so busy we forget our accomplishments and great moments. So here is my year in review:

First, I did not quite accomplish my knitting goals, but my knitting went in it's own direction, so, I'm not disappointed there. I finished five shawls and have two more at least half done. I also knit two baby kimonos, four pairs of mitts, and two filly scarves. Surprisingly, three of the shawls were for me! I finally have something that I knit!

I also sewed two dresses and seven skirts. I was aiming for one a month, but house hunting, purchasing, renovations, and moving interfered.

Together with Marian and Trudi, I processed three gallons of cherries, 15 gallons of plums 7.5 gallons of elderberries, 26 lbs of peaches, 100 lbs of beets, a box of Asian pears and an assortment of other food items (Gallons is the measurement given on buckets so that's the measurement for some of these).
I also baked 24 loaves of zucchini bread (although 8 were ruined in the oven fire) and made what seemed like a metric ton of jelly.

I was somewhat successful in establishing a new exercise regime. The move and all associated renovations and unpacking derailed me. I need to work on re-establishing a pattern in the new house and get back to it.

The highlights of the year are as follows, some good and some bad:

March: Took a one week "staycation" and did things like go to the zoo and wild life safari.
April 17th: Myy new Godson, Patrick James Eagle, was born.
April 21st: National Scrapbooking day all day crop with my Mom.
May 5th-13th: Trip to San Diego to see Jay, Candy, Lukas and Patrick, the new addition.
May 24th- 28th: Went to Egils and ran Gate with Ceridwen through Saturday; everything else was a blur.
June 24th: Went to Blacksheep gathering and had a great time.
August 3rd: Oven fire caused a cleaning spree and resulted in a new stove/oven.
Sept 1st: Finished my first year in my new position. Not all successfully but mostly.
Sept 3rd: Went to the State Fair with Robert, Carrie, and Jenna- Dogs playing fetch into a pool to see who could jump the greatest distance=WIN
Sept 5th: My friend Alex died at 35 years of age leaving behind a wife and two children as well as his grief stricken parents and sister.
October 14th: Croptober Fest all day scrapbooking with Holly and co.
Oct 22nd: Helped Marian cook the feast at Harvest Festival.
Oct 26th: Got the keys to my new (purchased) house!
Oct 26th- forever: Home renovations.
Nov 16th-17th: Moved to new house.
Dec 1st: First mortgage payment made.
Dec 22nd-28th: Went with my parents to Vallejo for Christmas at Therin and Tami's house.
Dec 30th: Dryer quit
Dec 31st: Made the unfortunate discovery that the supplemental whole house insurance doesn't cover the appliances I was specifically told it would.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do for New Years Eve. I know I am welcome at the "beginning of the world" party but parties, in general, are not my favorite place to be. I'm a classic introvert who would prefer to be with just a small group of people I know well.

I think Robert, Carrie, and Jenna are coming out for supper but I don't know if they will stay any longer than that. I will probably just be alone with my kitties and my knitting at New Years. That's ok too. Then later in the day I get to go spend money I don't have to replace the dryer (and probably the washing machine too since it's only minimally effective and not covered under the warantee anyway). Then I'm going to hang curtains and make sure the guest room is ready for my first over night company on the 11th.

New Years resolutions? I need to get back to my exercise regime and cooking healthy. Also need to live within my means and try to get some money in the bank. I'm not big into resolutions really. But those are my goals for the year.
