Death by beeting...

This morning about 10:00 am Marian began preparing her kitchen for an assault. At 10:15, I picked up 100 lbs of beets and threw them into the trunk of the car. They fought back all day long but now, 14.5 hours later, they have all been pickled and are residing in pint and quart jars. There were 109 pints and about a dozen quarts. Marian can correct me if I miscounted. At various times Marian and I were sitting against ice packs but we survived. There are pictures of the apparent blood bath but they'll come later. I am too tired tonight.
