I just started reading Mossy Creek and it's the first of eight books in the series. I recommend it and I'm not even half way through. Each chapter is about some episode or person in Mossy creek and they are expertly interwoven but stand alone tales. The are country wit at it's best and totally funny.
Today's chapter is about the new sheriff, who grew up in Mossy Creek as the no-account son of the previous sheriff. He took the job but still is in the suspicious stage in the town where no one knows what to expect from him. He is also single in a town a bit short on single men. This quote just tickled my funny bone:

"I won't deny that there is a certain amount of pleasure and irony in being dog meat at sixteen and catnip at thirty-five."

I finished my shawl.
I haven't blocked it yet but it's finished. It's very sheepy so I'm curious to see how much it will soften and stretch out when it's blocked.
