Marian, Trudi, and I picked three one-gallon buckets of cherries tonight. There were more but they were harder to reach and we were tired. We tossed them into the sink to rinse then took them outside to begin pitting them. After an hour we only had a little less than half of one bucket pitted. They will go onto the dehydrator; the rest will go into the freezer. After pitting each cherry one by one, fruit leather (which may use the food mill or the steam juicer) is sounding really appealing. But we really wanted dried cherries for various reasons. We shall see. We should be able to dehydrate them after they are frozen too.

They were really pretty!
