Ok so there isn't really a typical day but let me give you Monday of this week:
Elevator technician arrives before 8:00 to install 4th floor lock out devise. This is scheduled to take 6 hours.
8:30 Take a coworker down to room 100 to move tables. No good place to move them since there is no working elevator and I need them on the third floor.
9:30 Furniture install for room 100...and a delivery for the 3rd floor...um oops no elevator, wait, elevator is working?
9:45 Elevator technician shows me how to use the new lock out device so that I can access the 4th floor when necessary....[evil laugh] I have the power!
10:00 Account rep for Office World arrives to give tour (of his work), adjust chair settings, and discuss remaining items for delivery and issues with current installs. We discussed the fact that when I ordered the high density storage system he forgot to tell me that they are not compatible with a hanging file system. This perhaps should have been obvious to me but it wasn't. We need the system, we'll adjust.
Time a little nebulous: First candidate of three scheduled for interviews, presentations and meet and greets arrives to meet with the dean. One of the three had canceled previously.
11:00ish discuss personnel issue with a supervisor.
11:45 Head to water aerobics
1:20 Return from water aerobics and notice tables sitting in hallway, not where I left them and door to conference room wide open. Investigate. Understand reasoning but still not ok for long term.
1:25 Ask Allan's help in moving tables to third floor. Remove keys from cabinetry for appropriate labeling. Lock door after second trip. Debate merits of ordering more chairs, decide to wait until all furniture has arrived to determine space limitations.
1:30 Eat lunch wrap while reading emails. Look for appropriate filing system for new end file archives. Make large order of filing supplies. Cross my fingers and hope it's going to work.
2:00 Meet and greet for candidate 1.
2:30 Get call requesting testing data in a condensed and meaningful form. Spend a couple of hours collating and organizing such data.
3:40 Meet and greet for candidate 2 (different searches, we have four going on right now) Started at 3:00 but I didn't want to interrupt my data flow.
4:30 Send data to requester and return to organize remaining data in series, spot an error in original calculations, recalculate and resend.
5:03 Candy calls for an afternoon chat and I am still working and wondering why she's calling me so early. *sigh* Nope not early, I'm late. Save file, clean off desk, shut down computer....

Today was mostly about HR paperwork but the technicians came to figure out why my computer is having issues with restart and I lost it for the rest of the day. Called it a day at 3:00 and went to the yarn store. They had a good sale...I was bad. Shopping therapy is lovely, but expensive.

We had an Egils meeting tonight. Things seem to be in fairly good shape. Finances are sticky now with the added burden of the settlement. We are a bit concerned about our deposits but I'm sure we'll figure it out. Most of us are working hard to not spend the allocated money but rather donate our time and supplies for prizes and the like. So far prize expenditures for everything has been $90, don't know what the full budget is but it's usually fairly substantial (Hundreds); These donated prizes have included a damascus steel blade, two chests, a stool, a sundial, a medallion with sunstones, and many other items that I'm not bringing to mind.

Ceridwen and I are contemplating what knitting items we can do. I think we are going to do a hat and fingerless mitts as a prize for the parking volunteer "superstar". It seems appropriate. We may do other things as we have time. I don't know exactly what patterns to use. I've been doing a ribbed mitt pattern but I know it's not period (no purls in period I'm told) but it has the greatest versatility in terms of size because the ribbing stretches immensely (from toddler to titan). I found what is essentially a stocking cap but they are calling it a Monmouth cap. I'm not sure it's correctly labeled but it appears to be a useful hat and plausible.

Now I'm home again. The meat candy is done but I want it to cool before I bag it. I'm making good progress on the baby item for PJ. It actually looks like clothing now. That's exciting! Items that have to fit make me nervous! The nice thing about babies is that if you make something too big, eventually they will grow into it. I bought yarn for more baby things. This is kind of fun!

I'm adding ribbing to a boucle hat that my cousin sent to me in hopes that I could make it wearable for her baby. As is, it's just too short. I'm adding a band of ribbing but it looks a bit like a mushroom to me. Well, I guess it's better than unwearable and she's so cute I'm sure it will look adorable.

And now, I should head to bed. The 5:30 alarm comes way too soon!
