My chuckle last night
Jun. 23rd, 2011 02:18 pmI was reading a new Stephenie Laurens book (a regency era novel in the Cynister series) last night and this particular aspect of the novel made me laugh outloud!
The two main heros were talking. One was of the local gentry and the other was the locale curate. Each man was interested in marrying one of a pair of sisters (different one per man-it wasn't that confused!) They were encountering resistance because the one sister wouldn't marry until she'd found what she was searching for and the other wouldn't marry until her sister was settled.
The men didn't know what the ladies were searching for so they couldn't help and they were very frustrated.
So the local gentleman says "We HAVE to do something!"
The curate responds with "Yes, it's either that or go blind"
