poor kitty
Mar. 20th, 2011 11:31 pmPoor Frosting got a hair cut tonight. She had terrible mats but she gets so stressed out by any kind of human contact that I hate catching her and reinforcing her opinion of two leggers. But she looked so bad that I decided the mats outweighed the stress. Giving her a haircut entitles wrapping her in a blanket to catch her then a great deal of pressure into the bed with the scruff and one-handed trimming of hair with little tiny embroidery scissors with her hissing, growling and crying the whole time. This time she got so stressed she pooped everywhere. Not a fun experience for either of us but it's done for now. She still has small mats but I just couldn't keep her pinned down long enough to work on them. Hopefully with the fist size ones gone she will be able to groom a little better, or maybe her siblings will do it for her. For now she's semi-denuded from just past her shoulder blades to the base of her tail. Poor baby. I wish she weren't so antisocial so that this wasn't such a difficult thing to do. If I could just brush her regularly it would be better. But if I get within about 2 feet she starts hissing or trying to run. I have no idea why. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old and she's never been mistreated.
