I will be day tripping to Crown on Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, although it sounds like many of you will not make it. *sad*

I am looking forward to having a three day weekend. Work is crazy busy trying to keep up with all the work from the three vacant positions. It's quite crazy making but so far I'm managing. I did make one significant mistake but we are dealing with it and everyone understands how it happened (I thought I'd placed a computer order but I hadn't *rolls eyes*). I'm hoping to have hired two student workers by the middle of next week. We had a new receptionist start on Tuesday. I'll have some training to do with her but not right away. I've finished the first part of my training on the new web content management system. It makes sense; the last version did not. To do what I need to do with it, though, I do need some more training and I need to sit down and outline what it is we need and how we want to organize it. That's a tough step. The conversion takes hours of time (15 minutes per page, 7000 pages) but organizing it has to come first.

Personally, I've been sucked in by ebay again. This time finding inexpensive Sarees.
I've ordered these:

With shipping from India they cost me a total of $47.

Robert has purchased these:

I don't know how much he spent. I know the winning bids on the last two were 99 cents and the first was $9 but I didn't look closely at the shipping.

I keep finding more that I want but I can't really afford to buy anything more this month. They are such good deals it kills me to pass them up. One I like is $1.64 but shipping is $25. *sigh* I have a bunch of friends with birthdays this month and I bought my niece's birthday present for October so I need to be a bit more conservative with my money.

That's it, life wanders along.

There is a cute little thrift store in Portland that specializes only in craft stuff. It's called the Knittn Kitten. I read about it on this blog. Apparently their sales dropped dramatically in August and if they don't pick up, they will have to close their doors. I thought the notion of a thrift store devoted to craft supplies was pretty cool. If you are up there, run in and take a look, maybe spend a couple of dollars. It would be a shame to see them go out of business.

It sounds like the US distributor for Colinette Jitterbug lost the distributorship of their Welsh made yarn. There is a question if Colinette (the manufacturer) will still distribute their yarn in North America through another distributor. It sounds like they are going to continue to sell in North America but are going to distribute their own yarn. I don't know the validity of any of this. However, there is a sale on the yarn here. What was once $20.50 is selling as low as $12.30. Get it while it's hot, we may not have another chance for a while.
