When there is an SCA event, there are no posts on my friends page. I know you all are out having fun. I do miss you while you are gone.

My weekend was pleasant and mostly uneventful. I decided to pass on scrapbooking on Friday since I've spent every day for the last week plus working on the scholarship reception scrapbooks for the scholarship donors. It took all the creativity I had for the week. Instead, I watched a season of MASH and knit on my Vernal equinox shawl.

Saturday I cleaned up a little bit around the house, mostly I cleaned the litter boxes. Then I went and had a clarifying shampoo and deep conditioning done on my hair and had it trimmed a bit. It's nice and healthy and rather curly (for my hair). I still had some time to kill before I met Robert before our game so I went to Valley River Center and visited the place that has the hair sticks. I picked up three hair sticks and two sets of barrettes for $15. They are going out of business by the end of the month so everything was 70% off. I also picked up a new swimsuit from JC Penny's to replace the one that has become a bit sheer. Then I went and picked up Robert. Usually we just chat for a while and go to game but he was feeling the need to get out of the house so we went back to VRC. He wanted to see what he could find in Hello Kitty stuff for Carrie at the store that is liquidating. We picked up a few things and then he forced me to bring out my inner child and go to Build-a-Bear. I've never been there. I think it's kinda silly to dress animals in people type clothes but he insisted and away we went. He and Carrie had already picked out the animal they wanted to get for me. It's a snow leopard but not the WWF one. I didn't like any of the sounds that you can put in them so it got a satin heart and filling. I had to admit the clothes were cute and kinda appealing...So my new leopard is standing on the hutch in a satin sequined dress, satin panties, high heals and a flower on her ear. Yes, I'll admit, she's very cute. I want the Owl one now but no clothes. And maybe the bunny with clothes. I guess it's kind of addictive.

We wandered the mall a bit longer then went to Chili's to eat. It was good food but one service error after another. I ended up with both chicken and steak fajitas because the server wrote chicken when I asked for steak. I got rice instead of beans but that was easily rectified. It was nice to sit down for dinner instead of gulping fast food on the way to the game. When we were done we headed for our game. We were about an hour later than we usually arrive and still were the first to arrive. It was a bit strange but we do tend to get there early and set up.

I got home about 1:00 am and had to get up early for a special church meeting. I was at Mom and Dad's by 9:15. We had our service outside in a beautiful setting at a private home then had a potluck. I got to visit with a few people that I don't normally see. We left a little after 1:00 much to our surprise. We were thinking it would be closer to 4:00 before we left. That meant that Carrie and Robert were not expecting me and were sound asleep in a mid-day nap. I woke them up when I came in; then, while they showered and dressed, I took my mid-day nap. ;>) They were rushing a bit because we wanted to catch the last matinee of Harry Potter. We had enough time to get there but the theater was pretty full so we sat a bit closer than I would normally. Still it was fun. Now if only my bladder could observe the three+ hour no rest-stop rule. The movie was good but now I really need to read the last book. My student worker is bringing me a copy tomorrow so that's good timing.

When we returned, Carrie tried to order pizza's online but couldn't make her computer load the pages. Robert grumbled and groused while he worked on the computer and Carrie ordered pizza using his computer. Then Robert's computer wasn't nice to him and he had a bit of a melt down and had to take a time out. ;>) I totally understood his frustration and his need to hide for a while but I wasn't sure what to do while he did that. I played on his computer for a while and visited with Carrie. I was contemplating going home when Carrie decided he'd been hiding long enough and went in to talk to him. We watched Romancing the Stone after that but I wasn't really into it. It was my turn to be moody and want to hide. I resisted but did go home after the movie. Since that was 10:00 though, I wasn't running away.

Today it's back to work. I'm still a bit moody. Mostly it relates to having no time to sit and knit on my shawl. I want to have it done by August 18th but I'm only on the third of seven charts. I've got to make it my priority on my off days this week. Carrie is gone this weekend to SeaDog so I may have a bit more time to knit. I'm not sure how that will all work out.
