On Monday during tear down, my jaw started twinging a bit. Yesterday I couldn't chew anything or open my mouth much. Today, more of the same. I'm hungry and can't eat. I can't even touch my molars together. I'm going to the doctor! It's totally external to my mouth so I think a dentist is not necessary. I have no idea what may have caused it nor am I really sure how the doctor might fix it. I'm wondering if my sinus issues caused it, but it's only on the left side. You'd think it would be bilateral if it was that. Oh well, that's why I'm going to the doctor- I'm not one and can't make any diagnosis.

I needed this...
May. 27th, 2009 10:11 amThe doctor diagnosed an acute flare up of TMJ. The meniscus in my left jaw has slipped out of place, been pinched and is currently throwing a tantrum. He proscribed Vicodin and recommended taking my Flexeril. He wants me to see my dentist to get a new bite plane, since I've worn mine out, and he'd actually prefer that I saw an orthodontist since they make better ones. He also is sending me to physical therapy. I can't wait to see the bill on all of that!
