Summary of the weekend
May. 11th, 2009 08:35 amNon-negotiable:
Church on Sunday and Mother's day lunch with Mom and Dad
Get Mother's day present (didn't find what I was looking for, going with plan B)
Robert and Carrie's by 4:30 today
Clean kitchen
Put away clothes
Grocery shopping (Apparently this was negotiable, although probably not the smartest thing to leave undone. However, shopping in three inch heels, just wasn't on my list of things to do yesterday)
Get elastic
Have my favorite lady try on her Egils pants
If I have time:
Vacuum and straighten house
Clean litter boxes
Pick up Pottery
Put away new yarn
Cut out second pair of pants
Finish seems on Tunic and hem
Finish seems on pants and hem
Take out trash
I also managed to do some weeding since I was tired of watching the weeds crawl up the side of the apartment complex. It's not the section in front of my house; I try to keep that clear but it was driving me crazy, not to mention, reseeding my flower beds. Now I have piles of weeds that need to be moved to the trash. I need to call the landlord and let him know that the landscaping needs some attention.
I did not get as much sewing done as I would have liked. I did some running around on Saturday- dropped off some fabric for Thingmakers at Marians and looked at several stores for masonry turtles for my mom's garden. She's been collecting turtles but they are incredibly difficult to find. I ended up giving my mom a gift card IOU for something different. The GC was for a yarn store and I told her that we could pick out a pattern for something together, choose the yarn and I would knit it for her. She wants a triangular shawl so I spent quite a bit of time yesterday pulling out pictures of shawls that I though she might like (this interfered with my sewing time but it was worth the time). I made her no guarantees about the amount of time it would take me to do this project. It will depend on the pattern and the yarn. It will be nice to have a complex pattern to play with. I keep meaning to work on lace but keep getting distracted by socks and the instant gratification thereof. It will test my skill, I'm sure, but hopefully I'm up for the challenge. I only sorted through 4 pages of shawls on Ravelry... there were 54 pages worth of free patterns although, not all of them are in English. These are the ones I offered, although if she doesn't like any of them we'll keep looking. (What in the world did we do before Ravelry? So many incredible patterns and pictures all for free!)
