Happy Valentine's day to me.
Feb. 13th, 2009 09:52 amSo I convinced my mom to send me knitting supplies instead of flowers this year. I don't know what she'll be sending me. I broke one of my harmony wood needles so I need a replacement, which sparked our conversation. I asked for several needle sets and there are a couple of pattern books that I want too...Actually I think my wants are never ending. But I didn't ask for yarn this time. I have 63 yarns in my stash and I think I need to start working on stuff before I buy new yarn...Not that it really works that way but I'll give it a try.
I started the Nordic sweetheart hat last night though, so I'm excited to work on that... something for myself, how novel. This is the pattern picture-- I'm doing it in pink and white.

I'm also going to start a pair of Field of Flowers socks in the Colinette Jitterbug "Mist" that Amy gave me. These are also for me. I don't have anything that I've knit for myself except my first pair of socks, which have a run in them and have to be repaired. This is my carry-along project for lunch times and spare minutes. I am practicing being a selfish knitter. Eventually, I need to get back to my lace project for Mom; it would be a good mother's day gift.
My brother and SIL got their Christmas gifts and she called to tell me they, love, love, LOVE them. She said Therin put his scarf and hat on and danced around the room. I think he likes it. Unfortunately, the hat is not warm enough for skiing because it doesn't cover his ears. I debated the ear flaps but figured he might get more use out of it if it didn't have them. I'm disappointed it won't work for skiing but I still think I made the right decision.
Yesterday at work I got flowers from Lukas (well, his mommy and daddy; I'm sure he didn't order them) They are very pretty and the note is very sweet: "You're the best God Mom ever!" I spoke to Jay for a while last night and, when I thanked him he said "Candy and I just want you to know how much we love you." Awwww! How nice. I'm blessed with wonderful friends! I don't have a camera at work so I'll try to take a picture of the flowers when I take them home tonight.
