Well, we have made it to California. Hopefully, everything we need made it with us. It was a long and uncomfortable ride....so much so that I'm really glad I'm taking the train back. The dog carrier went from the drivers side door to the edge of the passenger seat. This left me enough room for my hips and a bit of room to dodge all the stuff that was sliding into my head from the top of the kennel. The stuff on the floor also migrated to the tops of my feet although that was because dad packed all the dog stuff on the bottom and kept digging through it and sliding things my direction at every stop. My arm has a permanent indentation from the door frame of the kennel since I had no where to go to get away from it. In spite of it all, it wasn't a grumpy trip. I brought music for the CD player that all of us would enjoy and I slept and knit my way here. I'm hoping my back stops hurting before the wedding. But I'm loading up on the Naproxen just in case.
It is late now, and I need to get into bed. As much as I love my family being this close for a week will be a bit of a trial...Dad drives me nuts! (Did you know that he has hearing aides? He won't wear them in normal situations where in he might, oh, say, hear Mom or I talking to him. No, he'll only wear them for church. *bah* I'm already tired of repeating things loudly) Tonight some jerk was driving like an idiot (It's CA; I'm not surprised). Rather than let him go around, Dad tried to speed up to prevent it. Look, really, some of these people have guns and acting like an idiot in return isn't going to help the situation. Dad snarls at us if we snap at him about it.
I miss my kitties. We have two very large black labs and do a whole lot of yelling "Sit! Down, All the way down! Stay!"
Sleepy by time for now.
